Dr. Simon A. Levin was among recent recipients of the Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Ecology and Conservation Biology, as curated by the BBVA Foundation. These awards recognize the importance of basic knowledge as the principal driver of scientific change, as well as acknowledging the growing interdisciplinary nature of knowledge. These annually-presented awards also emphasize the fact that many critical contributions to current knowledge result from collaborative efforts of large teams of researchers.
