82 Arizona high school students successfully completed the 2024 JBMSHP summer program. Students received first-hand experience of what it is like to be a college student.
The JBMSHP was awarded a $40,000 grant from the APS Foundation in June. The APS Foundation supports programs that enhance academic achievement in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The JBMSHP is one of six STEM PUSH pre-college STEM programs that have earned first-of-its-kind accreditation from Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). These programs are aligned with and strengthening along quality standards that are equity-centered and designed to broaden participation in STEM.
Jacob was selected as the recipient of the Charles Wexler Mathematics Prize, the highest honor an undergraduate in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences can receive.
JBMSHP ASU students had the opportunity to ask an alumni panel questions about negotiating salaries, obtaining internships, and learn how to successfully transition from college to industry.

2023 News
The JBMSHP hosted the 3rd annual JBMSHP alumni mixer on October 21, 2023. Attendees had the opportunity to reconnect with friends and network with other alumni at the Dave and Busters rooftop patio.
Thor Eckman, an ASU Mathematics and Chemistry double major, received the $1,000 scholarship named after Dr. Joaquin Bustoz.
The JBMSHP joined over 40 pre-college STEM programs at the spring 2023 convening in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
